Official Partnership With Birmimgham City!

Couldn't we all do with some good news right about now?

Well we've got some GREAT news for our football club, our players and our coaches!

Following a number of discussions over the past few months, we are delighted to now be able to officially announce that we have signed an Academy Grassroots Agreement with Birmingham City Football Club!

This agreement is exclusive between Lillington Juniors Football Club and Birmingham City Football Club, meaning there are no other grassroots clubs in the local area with the same direct access to their Academy and all of the benefits which our players and coaching staff can now take advantage of.

Some of the many benefits will include:

• Close working relationship with BCFC & it’s Academy.

• Creation of a Recruitment network to aid Player & Coach Development.

• Access to Academy Training sessions & Coach Development Sessions hosted by BCFC to help our Player Development.

• Provide a pathway for Players to be considered at the Academy. For successful players it will provide a pathway to realising their potential within the game.

• In addition, members of the Club will be able to utilise the BCFC ticket scheme which will give access to reduced ticket prices for matches & help us raise funds also.

Lillington Juniors FC Director & Head Coach, Ryan Cranton, said “This partnership is a huge step forward for us and we are delighted to be recognised by Birmingham City as a growing grassroots Club with more than 30 teams.

While our Club ethos remains the same, ensuring we continue to welcome all abilities who want to play football for a wide range of reasons, we now have a clear pathway for players who have the ambition of progressing to playing with a professional Academy at Birmingham City.

We are very much looking forward to the support our coaches will gain from this partnership too, as it will give them the opportunity to attend Academy sessions and matches, which will further expand their knowledge and help them coach and develop their players at LJFC.

The positive feeling I had after meeting a number of the Academy staff has left me in no doubt that this is a very big moment for our football club and we are very proud to be in partnership with Birmingham City."

In announcing the link Simon Hill, BCFC Recruitment Partnerships Manager said “We are delighted to welcome Lillington Juniors to our Academy club partner “AGA” scheme.

This will hopefully benefit both clubs in many ways. It will help the coaching staff of Lillington Juniors gain valuable insights into the coaching programme here at the Academy, which will help them become better coaches with their own teams. We are also committed to putting on CPD events that will also help develop their coaching staff.

The club will also be able to benefit from the ticket incentive scheme, which can help raise funds to support your club.

In return Birmingham City Academy hope to be able to recruit the best players from all the many established and new upcoming junior teams at Lillington Juniors whilst at the same time contributing to the Clubs development and growth.”

Everyone connected with LJFC is so excited by this!
