Following the UK Government’s announcement at the weekend regarding the new national COVID-19 restrictions, we have been patiently waiting for the FA to release a statement with what impact the new restrictions will have on our football club and the wider football community.
The FA have now released a statement and, as expected, it is with regret that we can confirm that all grassroots football will be suspended from Thursday 5th November 2020 until Wednesday 2nd December 2020; this includes training and matches.
While this decision is deeply disappointing, particularly given the fact schools, colleges and universities remain open, we can only hope that these new restrictions will indeed be lifted next month and we urge everyone to play their part in following the new guidelines to help reduce the risk of infection.
LJFC parents were emailed last night with an update, including details of what we will be doing this month for our young players.
