For all spectators, Coaches and players, please carefully read our guidelines regarding COVID-19 to ensure we can try and keep everyone as safe as possible.
IF YOU HAVE ANY COVID-19 SYMPTOMS DO NOT ATTEND ANY COACHING SESSIONS OR MATCHES AND FOLLOW GOVERNMENT GUIDELINES AND SELF ISOLATE - more information can be found here.
We hope you and your families are keeping well and that your child has enjoyed the start of the new football season.
With the world still battling against COVID-19, we have been overwhelmed with the level of support and personal messages that have been sent to us, thank you, it has kept us as motivated as ever throughout these difficult times and ensured we continued to plan for the return of football; which we can once again all enjoy.
However, like everyone else, we have been following the news closely and we are concerned about the daily increase in new cases and, despite outdoors sport not being considered “close contact”, this had led us to introducing some important changes which will take place with immediate effect.
1. NEW TRACK & TRACE PROCEDURE
Following the UK Government’s announcement yesterday (23rd September 2020), our previous online track & trace form will no longer be used and this will be replaced by the official NHS COVID-19 app.
From today (24th September), all venues in England will be required by law to display the NHS QR code poster, relevant for the venue, to be used in conjunction with the NHS COVID-19 app, which can be downloaded on your smartphone.
North Leamington School - our NHS QR code poster will be displayed on the green gate, which is situated between the car park and the all-weather pitch. Every adult, including Coaches, must scan the QR code upon arrival using the NHS COVID-19 app on their phone.
St Nicholas Park – our NHS QR code poster will be displayed on the entrance gate of the all-weather pitch with an LJFC badge to make our QR code easily identifiable. Every adult, including Coaches, must scan the QR code upon arrival using the NHS COVID-19 app on their phone.
If your smartphone does not support the NHS COVID-19 app, please contact your child’s Coach and provide details of your attendance at the coaching session/match.
For coaching sessions at either of the above venues, please ensure no parents/guardians enter the all-weather pitch and, if staying to watch, remain outside of the outer fence and maintain social distancing at all times. ONLY Coaches and players are allowed inside the all-weather pitch.
2. SPECTATOR LIMIT FOR COACHING SESSIONS & MATCHES
To reduce numbers of spectators at coaching sessions and matches, in a bid to make social distancing easier so that football can continue safely for all involved, we are introducing a spectator limit of TWO per player – this limit includes siblings – with immediate effect.
While we are aware that other sports clubs up and down the country are introducing various spectator limits, with some only allowing one spectator per player, we feel that limiting it to two per player will allow, where possible, both parents to watch their child play football, which we know children really enjoy.
3. WATCHING MATCHES
We are grateful that the vast majority of spectators are socially distancing, as per our signs on site, while watching coaching sessions and matches, however we have noticed some incidences at matches over the past few weeks where large numbers of spectators are gathering on the touchline and not socially distancing.
We are aware that this is an issue particularly for the smaller pitches/younger age groups, therefore we have decided that, with immediate effect to help maintain social distancing, for matches at North Leamington School the away team’s spectators will remain on one side of the pitch behind the respect barrier with the away team’s Coaches on the same side.
LJFC Coaches and spectators will stay together on the opposite side to the away spectators and, while there will be no respect barrier on the LJFC side of the pitch, we would kindly ask you to please stand at least 3 yards back from the touchline.
This will take place for matches at North Leamington School until further notice.
4. FACE COVERINGS
With some schools having today introduced new guidelines, asking parents/guardians to wear face coverings during the school run, we are also recommending that parents/guardians wear face coverings at all time while on site at North Leamington School and St Nicholas Park for both coaching sessions and matches, unless exempt due to medical conditions. We are asking parents/guardians to please wear face coverings with immediate effect - this does NOT include players or Coaches.
While we cannot enforce the above new guidelines, we are asking for your support in this so that we can play our part in trying to ensure that everyone remains as safe as possible during these difficult times and so the children can play football for as long as possible.
We hope that you and your child continue to enjoy the new football season by following these new guidelines. The safety of everyone who attends our coaching sessions and matches is of paramount importance to us and we hope this gives you reassurances that we are taking necessary steps to try and keep everyone safe.
Should you have any questions in relation to these new guidelines, please contact us via email email@example.com
Thank you again for your continued support!
